Rey Leon, Executive Director of the San Joaquin Valley Latino Environmental Advancement Project (SJV LEAP), joins the show to talk about FERN, the Fresno Environmental Reporting Network, a groundbreaking taskforce and system that allows community members in Fresno to report environmental issues in their community. Together, community members and agencies are collaborating through FERN to protect the health of families by protecting air, water and soil quality in Fresno County. Founded in 2003, the Fresno-based Central Valley Air Quality Coalition (CVAQ) is a partnership of more than 70 community, medical, public health, environmental and environmental justice organizations representing thousands of residents in the San Joaquin Valley unified in their commitment to improve the health of all Californians.
